AnyBanq: how a bank application becomes a lead worth processing

Speak to anyone who works in retail banking operations in Sri Lanka and you'll hear the same complaint. The applications arrive. They are just not usable. A name spelled differently on two documents, an NIC image too blurred to read, a missing address proof, a phone number nobody answers. Each one becomes a phone call, a follow-up, a re-submission — and often, eventually, a customer who gave up.

AnyBanq exists to fix the shape of what reaches the bank.

What actually happens

  • The customer applies once, digitally, for the bank product they want
  • We collect everything the bank needs — details and supporting documents — in one structured flow
  • Our team verifies it before it goes anywhere: identity, documents, and consistency across the whole application
  • The bank receives a clean record, complete and already checked, ready to process

The customer's relationship is still with the bank. We are not a broker who sits between them afterwards, and we are not making the credit decision. We are removing the part of the process that wastes everybody's time.

Why verification before submission changes the economics

A bank's cost per application is largely the cost of chasing incomplete ones. Every incomplete file consumes an officer's time, delays turnaround, and pushes a customer closer to abandoning the process entirely. The application that never had to be chased is dramatically cheaper than the one that was.

Anyone can send a bank more applications. The valuable thing is sending fewer that need to be sent back.

That's the whole proposition: not lead volume, but lead quality — measured by how many of them the bank can process without touching the customer again.

What "verified" means here

Verification is deliberately narrow and honest. We confirm that the identity documents are genuine and belong to the applicant; that the details entered match those documents; that required supporting documents are present, legible and current; and that the application is internally consistent.

We do not assess creditworthiness, approve anything, or make representations about whether the bank should accept the customer. That decision belongs to the bank, applies the bank's own policy, and always will.

Human review, not just automated checks

Automated checks catch the mechanical problems — a missing field, an expired document, a mismatched number. They do not catch a document that is technically readable but obviously wrong, or an application where something simply doesn't add up.

So there is a person in the loop. Our team reviews what the automation flags and what it doesn't, which is why the record a bank receives is one a human has already looked at. That is slower than a purely automated pipeline, and it is the reason the output is worth something.

Consent, and only sharing what is needed

An application contains a lot of personal data — identity documents, income details, address history. Under the Personal Data Protection Act, passing that to a bank requires the customer's informed consent for that specific purpose and that specific recipient.

So consent is captured against the named bank and the named product, recorded with a timestamp, and revocable. The bank receives what it needs to assess the application and nothing beyond it. Data we hold is encrypted at rest, access is logged, and retention is enforced on a schedule rather than left to accumulate.

For the customer

One application instead of a branch visit with a folder of photocopies. Clear status rather than silence. And crucially, the checking happens before submission — so if something is missing, they find out in minutes while they still have the document in hand, not in a phone call a week later.

How it fits with the rest of what we build

VerifiaOS is the verification and compliance engine underneath — NIC checks, consent records, encrypted storage, audit trails. AnyBanqID handles authentication for customers who need an ongoing login. AnyBanq is the product a bank actually contracts for: a pipeline of applications that arrive complete.
